6.6 Cells & Systems

“The students LOVED dissecting the chicken wing and seeing the interactions between the skin, muscles, and bones. Dissecting helped the students to truly see how the skin was connected to the muscle and the muscle was connected to the bone. The look on their faces when the chicken would bend and straighten while pulling the 2 upper muscles, was priceless. “
Denise Church, Allen Park Middle School Teacher

This month, we’re spotlighting our 6.6 Cells & Systems Unit!  Students discover how the body heals itself by investigating the injury of a middle school student who needed stitches, pins, and a cast. They also analyze doctor reports and watch a time-lapse of a knee scrape to figure out how cells regenerate and work together to help our body function.
