How does the Bulk Downloader work?
OpenSciEd provides a variety of methods for teachers to access the instructional materials, including via PDF download and a view-only preview of Google Document formats. To make the use of the materials even easier for educators, we also now provide an option to make a copy of units using a Bulk Downloader application. This app has been approved by Google and is designed to make a copy of the entire unit to the Google Drive folder of a user’s choice. In order to do this, users will need to complete a few steps and give permission to Google to access their Drive. Our privacy policy ensures that the bulk downloader application will never be used to access data in the user’s Google Drive: it only writes new data there. It also never reads a user’s data files out or stores them anywhere. The application does read the folder structures to help users navigate where to put the downloaded files. Users can also remove permissions immediately after the files they want are downloaded.
